1. Platform Description

Selano ("the Platform") is a social prediction market protocol that allows users to create and participate in prediction markets using USDC on the Base L2 blockchain. Selano is NOT a gambling platform and does NOT provide financial services. Predictions are resolved by an AI oracle consensus mechanism.

2. Eligibility

To use Selano, you must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding agreements in your jurisdiction. You must not be a resident of any Restricted Jurisdiction (see Section 3).

3. Restricted Jurisdictions

Selano is not available to residents of the following countries:

• France (FR)
• United States of America (US)
• United Kingdom (GB)
• Netherlands (NL)
• Singapore (SG)

This list may be updated at any time. It is your responsibility to ensure you are not accessing the Platform from a restricted jurisdiction.

4. VPN Prohibition

The use of VPNs, proxies, or any other technology to circumvent geographic restrictions is strictly prohibited. Violation will result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all funds held on the Platform.

5. No Warranty

The Platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, availability, or uninterrupted operation of the Platform.

6. Risk Acknowledgment

By using Selano, you acknowledge and accept the following risks:

• You may lose all funds committed to predictions
• Smart contracts may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or be subject to exploits
• Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed
• USDC may lose its peg to the US Dollar
• Network congestion, forks, or downtime may affect your ability to trade
• AI oracle resolution may produce errors or disputed outcomes

7. Not Financial Advice

Nothing on the Platform constitutes financial, investment, trading, or legal advice. All prediction markets are for informational and entertainment purposes only. You should consult qualified professionals before making any financial decisions.

8. Financial Data & Price Verification

For prediction markets involving financial asset price thresholds (cryptocurrency, stocks, forex), the following rules apply:

• A price crossing is only valid if the asset sustains the threshold price for at least 5 consecutive minutes on a major exchange
• Brief spikes, flash crashes, or wicks that revert within the 5-minute confirmation window are not counted as valid crossings
• Price data is sourced from third-party APIs (CoinGecko, yfinance) and may experience delays of up to 15 minutes for stocks and forex
• The Platform is not responsible for inaccuracies in third-party price data
• If a price threshold is not crossed before the resolution deadline, the market resolves as "No"

9. Market Viability & VOID Resolution

A prediction market may be voided (cancelled without a YES/NO outcome) under the following conditions:

• The underlying event is cancelled, postponed indefinitely, or fundamentally changed
• The market fails minimum participation: both sides (YES and NO) must have at least 3 unique participants and at least $50 USDC total volume
• The AI oracle consensus determines the prediction is no longer meaningful (VOID verdict)
• An administrator determines the market should not proceed to resolution

Viability evaluation: Markets are checked 24 hours before their deadline. If minimum participation is not met, the market enters a review period. If still failing at deadline, it is automatically voided.

Refunds: When a market is voided, all participants receive a full refund of their initial investment (calculated from average buy price × shares held). No resolution fees apply. Refunds must be claimed within 90 days.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to the Platform in the two (2) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Platform, its operators, developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through individual binding arbitration. You agree to waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

13. Account Termination

The Platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, or regulatory requirements.

14. Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify users of material changes through the Platform interface.
